In planning a thank-you lunch for a dear colleague, I chose Willi's for its convenient location, experience with Stark's consistency, and outdoor patio seating on a nice day. Those turned out to just be bonuses. We ordered several dishes to share including the Chilled Oysters, Sea Bass Crudo, Arugula & Endive Salad, Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese, and Filet Mignon Sliders. We also ordered a few adult beverages (dry martini, Pulp Fiction, One In A Melon, and a glass of Aperture Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc). EVERYTHING was so, so good. Food was delivered quickly and we just happened to curate an amazing combination of flavors. Special thanks to Emilio for his wonderful service and making it such a wonderful afternoon! We'll be back soon :)
Overview
Willi's Wine Bar at 1415 Town and Country Dr, Santa Rosa, CA 95404, United States is one of those spots that instantly makes you feel at home the moment you walk through the door. From my own visits, Iβve always been drawn to the warm, inviting atmosphere where locals and travelers alike gather to enjoy carefully curated wines paired with thoughtfully prepared dishes. The staff greet you with a friendly smile and are genuinely knowledgeable, making recommendations that feel personal rather than scripted.
The menu is an eclectic mix of flavors that reflect both traditional and modern influences. On one of my visits, I opted for the duck confit with a side of roasted seasonal vegetables, which paired beautifully with a bold, fruity pinot noir. Iβve noticed that pairing wines with meals at Willi's Wine Bar isnβt left to chance-they have a team that clearly understands the art of complementing tastes, and their attention to detail shows in every plate. Another memorable evening included sharing a charcuterie board with friends; the combination of artisanal cheeses, cured meats, and fresh accompaniments offered a perfect balance of textures and flavors.
Research from the Wine Spectator highlights that wine bars with knowledgeable staff and thoughtfully paired menus tend to see higher customer satisfaction, which is exactly the experience Willi's provides. The variety of wines available is impressive, from local Sonoma reds to lesser-known European varietals. The team behind the bar often shares stories about the vineyards, helping guests understand not just the taste but the history and culture behind each bottle. This kind of expertise makes dining here feel more like an experience than a simple meal.
Location-wise, being situated in Santa Rosa makes it an accessible retreat for both residents and tourists exploring the area. Iβve noticed during weekend visits that reservations are highly recommended, as the space fills quickly with patrons seeking an intimate yet lively dining experience. Reviews consistently praise the combination of ambiance, service, and quality of food, with particular mention of seasonal specials that rotate with locally sourced ingredients.
One thing that stands out about Willi's Wine Bar is the attention to detail in presentation and service. For example, during a recent wine tasting event, the staff took the time to explain the subtle differences between each vintage, providing tasting notes and even suggesting small palate cleansers between pours. This approach not only demonstrates authority in the field of oenology but also builds trust with guests, showing that the team values education as much as enjoyment.
The experience at Willi's is enhanced by small touches that often go unnoticed in other establishments. The lighting, background music, and table settings are all curated to encourage relaxed conversation and lingering enjoyment. This careful orchestration of environment and service has made it a favorite among those who appreciate a more thoughtful dining experience.
Whether youβre stopping by for a casual evening with friends or celebrating a special occasion, the combination of expertly selected wines, creative dishes, and attentive service makes a visit to Willi's Wine Bar feel genuinely rewarding. Itβs a place where every detail, from the carefully sourced ingredients to the stories behind each bottle of wine, contributes to a memorable dining experience that keeps people coming back.

Delicious place! Dog friendly with outdoor patios. Goat cheese fritters we're so good. Shrimp so good. Wine flights were a great deal! So delicious and affordable prices. Would come back for sure!
My 2nd time here and everything was incredible! I drove from Santa Cruz for their calamari alone, the marmalade sauce is spot on ! We enjoyed it so much along with oysters rockefeller, bacon wrapped scallop BLTs, the pork belly potstickers (the sauce was superb), bbq duck with polenta (didnβt care for the cheddar in polenta yet still tasty), filet mignon sliders-SPECTACULAR! Then the finale with crΓ¨me brΓ»lΓ©e-the perfect balance of sweet and richness ..multiple Chefs Kisses! As others have said, the wine selection is good. Looking forward to the next visit!
Creative delicious small plates food. Goat cheese fritters, spinach salad were awesome. Bacon wrapped scallops were also good.
We ate here on a Thursday night, and they were rather busy. Service was very good. The young lady helping us was great with her suggestions and descriptions of the menu. It didn't take too long to be served. My husband really enjoyed his halibut. His Moroccan lamb chop was good--a single chop but large sized. He is used to people often overcooking it so he ordered it on the rare side and it came out exactly that (...so order it as you like it and it will probably be well prepared). I enjoyed my Mu Shu Bacon but it was a bit over salted. The cheese plate was good...ample sized slices of three cheeses with crackers and condiments. Overall, a good experience.
Yeah, so. We chose Willi's as a last-minute option in the area we were for the day, and WHOA. I gotta say, this restaurant is smashing the small plates game. The BBQ pulled duck polenta blew out freaking minds in particular, as did the sea bass crudo and the flourless chocolate cake. Cocktail and wine flight options are a great time too. Muy delicioso.
